Top Ten Pram Walks In Sydney

Sick of strolling through the same scenery on your morning walk? Or are you tired of frustrated joggers, busy footpaths and carrying a pram up staircases? Here are our top ten pram friendly walks around Sydney!

Cronulla Beach Walk

Whilst some beach walks are far too busy or have too many steps to make them pram friendly, the Cronulla coastal walk offers the perfect balance between stunning views and being pram accessible. Beginning at Wanda Beach, you can follow the beach trail for 3.7km before landing at the historic Bass & Flinders Point. Whilst many enjoy this walk for the stunning beaches along the way, be sure to pay attention to some of the jaw dropping real estate situated along the trail!

Highlight: take a break and stop in for a dip at the Shelly Beach rock pools!

Iron Cove Bay Walking Trail

Circling the Parramatta River for 7km, the Iron Cove Bay Walk is entirely flat making it perfect for walks with a pram or toddler in tow. With playgrounds, cafes and Drummoyne swimming pool along the trail, you can spend hours both walking the trail and enjoying the activities along the way.

Highlight: the beautiful harbour scenery and historical buildings.

Lane Cove National Park

Situated a mere 20 minuted from Sydney’s CBD, the Lane Cover National Park offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of Sydney city. The 10km circuit through the national park consists of two separate trails - the Riverside Walking Track, and the more challenging Lane Cove Valley Walk. Whilst the latter is not pram accessible, the Riverside Walking Track is perfect for parents with prams and for entertaining kids, as the trail is home to a large number of animals to admire including swamp wallabies, bush turkeys and kookaburras.

Highlight: immerse yourself in nature and escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney - without having to leave the city at all.

Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden

If you're looking for a day filled with learning, activities and a walk, the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden is the perfect place. There are 6 trails to enjoy - tho some are not pram friendly - so be sure to stop in to the rangers upon arrival who will provide you with a map and details of the pram friendly trails. Whilst you talk to the ranger, there are animal enclosures with a giant python, tree frogs and stick insects to keep the little ones busy!

Highlight: the Knoll garden which houses only Australian native flora and fauna.

Narrabeen Lagoon Trail

Whether your located in Sydney’s north or don’t mind a drive, the Narabeen Lagoon Trail is certainly worth the trip. Spanning 8.4km for the avid walkers, the trail is surrounded by the natural beauty of Narrabeen lakes, an abundance of greenery and home to a third of Sydney’s bird population. One of the best features of this trail is the cultural and heritage sites along the way - take the time to stop and read the wonderful history of the area whilst resting at one of the many park tables and benches along the way.

Highlight: there are a couple of steel bridges along the walk which are both stunning and exciting for the little ones!

Centennial Park

One of Sydney’s more iconic parklands, Centennial Park offers a pram friendly trail, beautiful lush plants, flowers and trees plus a horse track for the kids to watch the horses trot by. The pram friendly walking track next to Grand Drive offers views of the main body of the park, and is wide enough to accommodate two strollers side-by-side plus plenty of room for fast walkers or runners to overtake.

Highlight: Centennial Park is full of characters - from mums rollerblading whilst pushing a pram to galloping horses, there’s always something to see along the way!

The Harbour Bridge Walk

Full disclosure: there are steps on this walk, so you will need a walking buddy or a friendly stranger to assist. However, walking across Sydney’s most iconic landmark is a must for mums and kids of all ages to enjoy. Take in the stunning views of Sydney Harbour, the breathtaking houses along Milsons Point, and the iconic Luna Park. You can walk from the Sydney city side to Kirribilli and walk back along the bridge, or catch the ferry back from Milson’s Point into Circular Quay to break it up.

Milsons Point Foreshore Walk

Take the train to Milsons Point and turn right towards the harbour, cutting through Bradfield Park. Here you will enjoy one of the most iconic walks in Sydney, featuring the Broughton Street Lookout which is one of the most scenic lookouts Sydney has to offer. Featuring panoramic views of the city skyline, Harbour Bridge and Opera House, this short walk will have your head turning with every step.

Highlight: the walk takes you on the boardwalk around Luna Park, perfect to stop in for a few hours if visiting on the weekend!

Warriewood Wetland

Warriewood Wetland is the largest remaining sandplain wetland in Sydney, spanning 26 hectares. The walk itself is around 2.5km long, but due the abundance of scenery it will take you longer than expected. The terrain includes boardwalk, paths and bridges and is extremely pram friendly. No bikes or dogs are allowed, making it even more accessible for families. There are fantastic parks and barbecue areas to enjoy along the way!

Highlight: an area enjoyed by avid birdwatchers, your little ones will love the sounds and sights of the different species of birds that call these wetlands home.

Parramatta Park

With over 3km of pram-friendly paths, sweeping views of Parramatta River and home to the incredible Domain Creek Playground, this is one walk not to be missed. For the best experience, start at the Gatehouse Tearooms, on the corner of Pitt Street and Macquarie Street. As the walk is along one circular trail, you can finish at the Gatehouse for a well-deserved cuppa.

Highlight: the Domain Creek Playground is one of the most unique playgrounds Sydney has on offer.
